At least 20 people have lost their lives following Saudi airstrikes on the southwestern Yemeni city of al-Dhale.
According to Yemeni media reports on Thursday, the deaths occurred after Saudi warplanes targeted two schools and a gym in al-Dhale.
Reports said the Saudi artillery shells targeted the positions of Ansarullah fighters of the Houthi movement in the two areas of al-Mosalas and al-Hesameh in the northwestern province of Sa’ada near the Saudi border.
Earlier in the day, the airport in the southern port city of Aden was struck by Saudi warplanes.
Saudi airborne assaults also left several people dead and injured in al-Afyush region between the strategic cities of Aden and Lahij.
Saudi military fired artillery shells on the Mazraq refugee camp in Yemen’s northern province of Hajjah, near the border with Saudi Arabia.
In a broadcast late on Tuesday, Saudi government spokesman, Brigadier General Ahmed al-Assiri, announced the termination of the first phase of the Saudi war on Yemen, which was codenamed as the so-called Decisive Storm against Yemen.
However, he added that the Saudi naval blockade on Yemen would stay in place and the Saudi forces would continue targeting the Houthi Ansarullah movement’s fighters in Yemen.
Saudi Arabia started its military aggression against Yemen on March 26 - without a UN mandate - in a bid to restore power to fugitive former president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, who is a close ally of Riyadh.
According to reports, nearly 1,000 people have been killed during the aggression.
