Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Murtada Sarmadi has visited Tunisia to discuss ways of promoting bilateral relations between Tehran and Tunis. But, the Yemen crisis dominated the conversation and he had to answer many questions about the Sayudi-led aggression on Yemen.

Murtada Sarmadi also denounced the reliance of some states on terrorists and foreign-backed militants like the ISIL and al Qaeda to reach political goals in Syria, Iraq and now Yemen.

Observers argue that the West and all regional states must work with Tehran in order to defeat terrorism. In addition, many assert that Iran, which is an economic power due to its technological innovation could play an important role in Africa as well.

Since the 2011 popular uprising in Tunisia, Tehran expressed support for the North African state. Experts are confident about the fruitful cooperation in all sectors between the 2 Muslim countries.

Tunisian analysts say that following a final nuclear deal between Iran and the P five plus one, Iran can focus on strengthening its economy and reinforcing diplomatic ties with African nations.
