In the second day of national mourning flags were lowered to half staff in Catalonia and across Spain to honor the victims of Germanwings' flight 4U 9525 which crashed in the French Alps en route to Dusseldorf. The tragedy has taken the lives of 150 people from 16 different nations and brought to a standstill the subsidiary of one of Europe's flagship carriers: Germany's Lufthansa.

Amid speculations about the circumstances of the crash, Catalan and Spanish authorities have rushed teams of psychologists and social workers to assist the victims' families and next of kin in the town of Castelldefels, some twenty miles from the capital city of Barcelona.

Every hour that goes by brings a new story about the shattered lives of the passengers aboard the Germanwings flight. All has been put in place to offer the best psychological assistance to the families of the bereaved here in Castelldefels but investigators are wondering how they could collect remains of the victims’ bodies.

Recent reports from the cockpit data recorder add to the mystery surrounding the circumstances of the crash. Media reports are now speculating that one of the pilots may have intentionally brought down the plane.
