A new report shows the Israeli forces are still using excessive force against the Palestinian children in the occupied territories, targeting them with live bullets.

The global movement for the defense of children in Palestine said in a statement that it has documented 30 cases since the beginning of January this year in which the Israeli forces shot the Palestinian children with live bullets.

It added that 29 Palestinian children were shot while they were participating in peaceful marches in the West Bank and the last one was shot by Israeli settlers in Silwan town in the occupied al-Quds (Jerusalem).

The movement said the Israeli soldiers have been using the excessive force with conviction and prior knowledge that they will get away with impunity in spite of all their heinous crimes.

The picture shows the body of 19-year-old Palestinian Jihad Shehada al-Ja’fary, who was killed by Israeli troops near Bethlehem on February 24, 2015.

It also pointed out that the Israeli forces violated regulations by using live ammunition against the Palestinian children while there was no evidence proving that the victims have been posing mortal threats to the soldiers when targeted.

The statement came following earlier reports about the Israeli regime’s illegal detention of the Palestinian children.

The Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) said on February 4 that 11 Palestinian teenagers were detained when Israeli forces carried out a raid against their homes in the occupied West Bank and East al-Quds.

The Palestinian Prisoners Club also said in February that Tel Aviv had arrested 350 Palestinians in different cities across the West Bank during the month of January.

More than 7,000 Palestinian prisoners are currently held in some 17 Israeli jails, dozens of whom are serving multiple life sentences. About 540 Palestinians are being held without trial under the so-called administrative detention.

Administrative detention is a sort of imprisonment without trial or charge that allows Israel to incarcerate Palestinians for up to six months. The detention order can be renewed for indefinite periods of time.
