A huge crowd of Yemeni protesters came out in another street rally to mark the fourth anniversary of a deadly attack on protesters opposed to former president Ali Abdullah Saleh. On March 18, 2011, snipers loyal to the former president opened fire on protesters who had gathered in Sanaa's Change Square. The day is known as the Friday of Dignity.

Demonstrators raised slogans vowing to avenge the blood of the martyrs by continuing the revolution until they meet the demands, which many youth protesters sacrificed their lives for.Protesters also condemned the assassination a prominent Houthi official and Yemeni writer Abd al-Kareem al-Khawani, who was killed near his residence by unidentified gunmen, who escaped the crime scene.

Throughout the past two years, a number of Ansarullah politicians and figures have been killed in cold bold in the Yemeni capital. Despite the recurrent targeted killings, all of the perpetrators have gotten away.
Houthi officials at the demonstration hold Saudi Arabia and the US responsible for the latest assassination and for fueling the political turmoil in the country.

Protesters say they will honor the martyrs of the Friday of Dignity massacre by continuing their revolution until all corrupt officials are ousted from power and until a new Yemen, free of Western intervention is formed.
