President Poroshenko is ‘US tool in Ukraine’: Dean Henderson

An analyst says Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko is a tool of Washington.

American political commentator Dean Henderson says Russian President Vladimir Putin was right that the US organized an armed coup in Ukraine, adding that Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko is a tool of Washington in the country.

Henderson told Press TV on Monday it was interesting to hear that Putin has known the fact that the United States and its Western allies were all behind the mess in Ukraine that overthrew the democratically-elected government of former Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych.

“All of this came on the hills of an IMF meeting in the fall before the coup where the IMF was demanding that Ukraine raise its rates on electricity, privatize its farmland and make it available for sale to foreigners, just the classic IMF prescription which is to kill a patient with the medicines and take it out on the poor people in Ukraine and of course now that Yanukovych is gone and Poroshenko is in power. This is exactly what’s happening and IMF program is being carried out,” Henderson said.

“The Ukrainian economy is in a shambles, their currency is crashing, indeed people are paying more free utility rates and the farmland has been privatized,” he added.

He went on to say that Ukrainian President Poroshenko “is a tool of the West and he does not represent the people. He’s a billionaire.”

Henderson also said that Britain played a more important role as it does not want a strong relationship between Washington and Moscow.

“The British are actually behind this more than the Americans even because they just can’t stand the idea of Russia and the United States being friends so they’re going to do everything they can to keep that from happening and to precipitate tension and war between these countries,” he said.
