Countering Terrorism: The Other Side Of UK Law

Experts say daily stop and searches and the arrests of hundreds of innocent Muslims are becoming a reality for a group of people in the UK now seen as the new suspect community.

In light of the recent events, ordinary Muslims in Britain say they are being targeted by British authorities. Counter terrorism chiefs have pushed for new legislation after declaring the threat of a terrorist attack on the UK.

Since 9/11, the UK authorities have introduced several pieces of legislation and policies giving the police and other bodies greater powers of surveillance and detention. As a result, there have been 2710 terrorism arrests in the UK.
