Israel’s war rhetoric ahead of vote

Israeli threats of waging another war on Gaza have increased recently as Israelis prepare for elections on March 17.

Polling stations are set-up throughout the West Bank and East al-Quds (Jerusalem) to allow voting for the 550,000 Israelis who live in occupied territory.

However, some 350,000 residents of occupied East al-Quds are not considered Israelis and cannot vote in the elections. Even though these Arabs are not able to vote, they are still unfairly subjected to Israeli law and pay taxes to Israel.

Meanwhile, it is reported that there is no expectation that any configuration of Israel’s next regime will pursue peace talks or a path to ending the occupation. Instead, analysts believe that Tel Aviv will step up its rhetoric against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

The new Israeli threats come while the Palestinians in Gaza are still reeling from the recent Israeli war on Gaza that killed and injured thousands of Palestinians.
