The leading war hawks in Washington “wish to start a conflict with Iran” after US President Barack Obama leaves office in 2017, a writer and researcher in Florida says.
“Obama is being set up as a 'peace president' for future history books,” Walt Peretto said Tuesday in a phone interview with Press TV.
“The globalists who wish to start a conflict with Iran are patient enough to wait until the next US president is put in place,” Peretto said.
“Most likely it will be Hillary Clinton… (who) is a woman poised to show the 'liberated' women in the world she is tough as nails by doing Israelis' bidding by starting a war with Iran,” he noted. “Or a Republican will emerge who will represent the hawks in today's Senate.”
“The drums will not stop beating until Syria, Iran's most reliable defense ally, is weakened through the ISIL phenomenon and then Iran is attacked in some manner, most likely militarily,” he added.
Obama has lashed out at Republican senators for undermining his administration’s efforts in nuclear negotiations with Iran.
On Monday, a group of 47 Republican senators wrote an open letter to Iran, warning that the outcome of the nuclear talks would not be acceptable without Congressional approval and could be revoked when Obama leaves the White House.
The letter said a potential nuclear agreement with Iran would be a “mere executive agreement” that could be revoked “with the stroke of a pen and future Congresses could modify the terms of the agreement at any time.”
Iran and the P5+1 countries – Britain, France, China, the United States and Russia plus Germany – are seeking to seal a comprehensive nuclear deal by July 1. The two sides have already missed two self-imposed deadlines for inking a final agreement since they signed an interim one in the Swiss city of Geneva in November 2013.
