Yemen's Ansarullah movement has rejected a U-N Security Council call for it to cede power.
Ansarullah has asked the Council to be accurate and objective, urging it to respect the will and sovereignty of the Yemeni people. A text adopted by the Security Council on Sunday demanded Ansarullah to engage in the U-N-brokered talks. Ansarullah says it does not want power for itself. Instead, it wants a government formed of all political parties, with its newly-formed transitional and presidential councils offering rooms for all factions. The movement also said the formation of the councils was aimed at filling a power vacuum that followed the resignation of president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi. Hadi stepped down in January over differences with Ansarullah.
