South Koreans celebrate the New Year annually with numerous fun festivities, including World Famous Hwacheon Mountain Trout Festival.

Ahead of the Lunar New Year’s Day, which this year takes place on February 19, enthralling winter events are opening across the nation in South Korea.

The World Famous Hwacheon Mountain Trout Festival in Gangwon Province, draws thousands of local and foreign tourists from around the world during the New Year season with a bevy of entertaining outdoor winter activities, such as ice fishing and sledding. Jennifer Chang reports from Seoul.
