Her care taking hands with the scars they bear, narrate a story of love and dedication. They belong to a 33-year old woman who has left her life in the city to attend to helpless animals’ wounds.

She shares some of her concerns" Animals in our country are in an unfortunate condition. It’s like no one sees them. This made me decide to buy this place, take care of them, and heal them."

The animals she keeps are not just physically impaired; she takes care of their psychological troubles too.Garnet, was found standing for hours in front of her mom’s dead body, thinking that she’s still alive.  When she was telling me about what happened to Garnet, I could easily sense the grief in her voice. "I’m keeping up like this for years. I can never tell for sure that next month, I’ll get as much help as I’ve gotten this month or not. This is my all time concern; will this continue to be or not."

On the ground or up in the air, it doesn’t matter. Her love extends to both.

Obviously these, are not the only endangered animals. People like her, believe that a major change of attitude towards the way animals are treated, is necessary to happen.

I paid a visit to Iran’s Department of Environment and ask them if there is anything being done to make this attitude widespread.

Mohammad Darvish ,Deputy Head of the Department of Environment told me about the Department's future plans" We have to support those who do all they can, so that animals live a better life. They are actually guarding the ancient and long-standing values of our country. Values according to which the department of Environment has decided to launch what is called "Eco schools". Our environment matters and every single person has to understand this."

Environment in Iran is under a lot of pressure and is faced with numerous threats. Activists say passiveness will lead to the extinction of these endangered species.
