Child malnutrition in India

According to UNICEF, one in every three world’s malnourished children lives in India. It is believed that malnutrition is more common in India than in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Action against Hunger organized a one day conference in the Indian capital, New Delhi, focusing on malnutrition, which is common among Indian children.

In order to attract more government attention, the organization invited members from the Indian Ministry and other civil society members.

According to a report by the center for public policy, half of the Indian children are chronically malnourished.

Shahana Butt and her team toured one of the states of India, Rajasthan, which is believed to be chronically hit by under-nourishment which is more widespread among children below the age of 12.
