Unemployed Afghans leave country

Afghanistan suffers from high youth unemployment

Unemployment is one of the biggest challenges the people of Afghanistan are facing despite billions of dollars that have been poured into the country.

Better economy is still one of the key demands of the Afghan people. The government could meet this demand by generating jobs at least for the educated people.

But that did not happen. Poverty still remains high. According to the United Nations, over 60 percent of Afghans live below the poverty line.

Young Afghans are leaving their country and going abroad mostly illegally in search of a better life. Their journeys are very dangerous and life-hreatening. Fayez Khorshid reports.
