Hundreds of students take to streets in Milan in support of Palestine
Hundreds of young people took to the streets in Milan on Friday calling to stop the Israeli war in Gaza and the environmental damage associated with it.
Footage shows protesters entering KFC fast food restaurant chanting 'Free, free Palestine' and holding banners reading 'Free Palestine. Climate = justice'.
Then protesters marched to Eni petrol station, where they lighted flares and displayed a banner reading 'Boycott tour, stop genocide' following the company getting a gas exploration license in Israel. Similar actions were carried out outside a McDonald's restaurant.
According to the local media, the protest was organized by the 'Fridays for Future' international activist movement and was held on the day of the Global Climate Strike.
The Global Climate Strike Day was called by Fridays for Future on April 19 and planned to be held in some countries, including the US and Germany.
KFC, McDonald’s, and other Western fast food chains are reportedly boycotted across the Arab countries over expressing support for Israel or alleged financial ties or investments to Israel.
The protest comes as fighting continues in Gaza in the seventh month of the conflict.
